This 9-hour tour will show you the best of Douro, the first Portuguese wine region and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about Douro and it's evolution all over centuries. Marvel at the sculpted landscape on the best viewpoints over the Douro Valley. Take a 1-hour river cruise, learn about the production of olive oil at a local producer property, visit two Port wine estates (wine tasting included) and enjoy the lunch at a typical portuguese restaurant.

- PICK-UP SERVICE IS EXCLUSIVE TO PORTO DOWNTOWN AREA - we do not pick up from Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, Porto Coastal area and others. - We also pick-up from private addresses/Airbnbs. - Please contact us with your hotel/address if you can't see it while booking or we will set a meeting point - for addresses outside pick-up limits/area of difficult access we will always set a meeting point (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume). - Exact time and location is provided the day before - please wait for the end of the day and confirm receipt. - PICK-UP SERVICE STARTS AT 8:00 AM - be ready at 8:00 AM in advance to avoid missing the tour. NOTE TO TRAVEL AGENCIES: If travel agencies do not provide the client conctact information, they assume responsibility if the client does not show up due to the lack of communication between them.

What To Expect

1. Douro River Most of the tour has the Douro river as the scenic scenary through the day. The wineries that are visited offer incredible views to the river.

2. Peso Da Regua Whenever possible we stop at the city of Peso da Régua, an historical city of the Douro Valley associated with the commerce of wine. Here we provide our guests a brief explanation about the city and allow some free time for a coffee and pictures. 15 minutes

3. Quinta do Tedo Quinta do Tedo is one of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. In this visit you will learn about the wine-making process of Quinta do Tedo with a local guide. It includes a guided wine tasting session where you will be explained about the different wines to be tasted. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2:Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants. 1 hour 15 minutes

4. The Douro Valley In the heart of the Douro Valley you will have the chance to visit Pinhão. In the past Pinhão used to be an important place for commerce and transport of the wine from Douro to Porto. The wine was first commercialized and next shipped in the traditional Rabelo boat to remain aging in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the river in Porto. In the village of Pinhão we stop for a 1h river cruise as well as we have lunch at a traditional local restaurant. NOTE: Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants. 2 hours 30 minutes

5. Quinta do Beijo Quinta do Beijo is the second winery of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. This is a small local winery with very good wines that can not be bought in the city. The visit is usually done by the owner of the property himself while he tells you more about the production and the flavors of its wines. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2:Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants. 1 hour 15 minutes

6. Porto We return to Porto from Douro Valley close to 6:00 PM, where our guide will leave you at your selected drop off point.

We send the exact pick-up time by mail the evening before the tour takes place - please confirm reception of message and be ready in advance for pick-up to avoid delays or missing the tour.
Douro Valley's temperature is very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Thus, light clothes in summer and warm clothes in the winter are recommended;
Weather Note: All of our activities happen in covered and protected spaces - we guarantee a safe and comfortable tour despite any weather conditions.
Not recommended for children - if you are bringing children, please inform us in advance, as car seating is mandatory by Portuguese law.
You can also be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto downtown area/city center only (Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos cities are outside pick-up limits).
If your address is outside pick-up limits or in an area of difficult access (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume) we will set a meeting point a few minutes away so that you can board our van.
NOTE TO TRAVEL AGENCIES: While we understand that your office may be closed when we send our confirmations due to different timezones if you do not provide the client's direct contact number/email, you are responsible for contacting the client at the time we send the pick-up details (day before the tour takes place, by the end of the day, UNTIL 23:00 PM, PORTUGAL TIME) - Travel Agencies assume responsibility if the client does not show up due to the lack of communication between them.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Highly recommend this tour! We had an amazing time with Pedro - he was funny, knowledgeable, and showed us all of the amazing parts of the Douro Valley. Ask for him when booking your tour for a great experience. The restaurant we stopped at was incredible and the selected vineyards were excellent. You won’t regret this tour.

This tour was not what we expected. It was 1000x better. The small group setting and our guide Diana made it such an amazing day. She is extremely knowledgeable and a great driver. The wine tastings, the scenery it was all incredible. If you are going to Porto, I emplore you to please book this tour.

BRILLIANT DAY TRIP

We enjoyed this tour on June 26th. If you like a small personal group tour then you should consider this one as they only take a maximum of 8 people. The day prior to the trip we received detailed instructions regarding pick up from our apartment. Our guide and driver Joao was excellent providing us with lots of relevant information throughout the day. Both wine tasting sessions were brilliant with detail explanations from each vineyard of the wines/port we tried. Lunch was again excellent and very filling at a local restaurant. The river cruise at Pinhao was a 30 minute trip upstream and then back again past several vineyards. On the cruise you are part of a much larger party of 100+ people. The scenery along the Douro is stunning so it was nice being a passenger for a change so I could take the scenery in. I would highly recommend this tour.
