Overview

This tour starts at a local farm where the locals will give you a warm welcoming, after the guides dress you up with the harness, helmet and gloves, we will take a short hike of 5 minutes to immerse in the dense vegetation in order to find our hidden canyon, once we get the first training rappel the guides will offer a safety speech, and start going down the first rappel of 49 ft. As skills progress and confidence grows, you will descent 3 more rappels every one with different challenges. The heights of the waterfalls on this tour are between 49 ft and 131 ft. First, you’ll descend into a breathtaking world of cascading waterfalls, hidden trails, and rocky cliffs. Rappel down vertical drops, leap into refreshing pools, and navigate through narrow gorges, surrounded by the lush tropical rainforest. After an invigorating canyoning session, it’s time to take on the untamed rivers of Costa Rica in a thrilling white water rafting adventure.

Meeting Point

You can directly to our base of operations in La Fortuna (Arenal Rafting Company), Avenue 333, Street 460, where we have a secure park and other facilities. From this place we continue on our bus.

Pickup Details

Pick up time time may be up to 30 min before START TIME, depending on hotel location. Call us or send a message to get you pick up time. The pick up service included in the price only applies to hotels within a 5 km radius around La Fortuna Central Park. All clients from hotels located outside this radius must contact us to verify if their pick up service is available. included or you must pay an extra charge. Alternatively, you can drive to our base of operations in La Fortuna (Arenal Rafting Company), 333rd Avenue, 460th Street, where we have a secure park and other facilities.

What To Expect

2. After an invigorating canyoning session, it’s time to take on the untamed rivers of Costa Rica in a thrilling white water rafting adventure. Board a sturdy raft with your team and paddle through rapids that will test your skills and teamwork. Feel the rush of Rio Balsa, with a class III section of 45 minutes rapid by rapid, and a lower section of one hour to relax on easier rapids, swim tropical waters, stop for eating fruit on the river side and watch wildlife like sloths, toucans and iguanas. Experience the thrill of conquering each rapid, working together to navigate the twists and turns of the powerful currents. At the end you will be rewarded with a delicious Costa Rican lunch. 3 hours

Great way to spend a day with the family!

The combo canyoning with rafting was a perfect full day adventure with my 3 kids. ABC canyoning/ rappelling with Alex and his crew was awesome! They were fantastic guides, and we all had a great time. 3 things I wished we had brought but didn’t on this trip: 1. A waterproof camera sleeve for the iPhone to wear around the neck. You can not have a camera in your pockets with the gear on, and it all gets wet. We definitely wanted pictures. They had waterproof heavy duty hip bags to use for free, but it wasn’t as convenient to have to take the camera in and out. Alex and Jordy also took some video and pictures for everyone throughout the adventure, but these iPhone clear sleeves are probably cheap and people probably already them. 2. Knee pads if you have them. I bumped my knee against the rocks since it was wet and slippery. These are cheap and could save an injury. 3. Bring some cash for tips. They are not able to do Apple Pay or Venmo. We tried to send by PayPal afterwards, but that also could not go through. The Rafting portion was done by Arenal Rafting. This probably was the funnest thing we did the whole vacation. This portion was a much larger group and bigger operation- very well organized for its size. We had Juan as our guide, and he kept us safe and smiling the whole way down river. The rapids were just scary enough but not too dangerous for families. We shared the photo purchase with our raft-mates, so they were great high quality photos for a really reasonable price. Overall, a great choice to spend the day with this combination of canyoning and rafting.

What an amazing experience! The waterfall was beautiful and the guides were kind and knowledgable! Alex and Gorgie of ABC were too notch and the breakfast was delicious. Arenal Rafting was great and Oso our raft guide was patient and understanding. My daughter and I were very nervous while my husband and son were all in!!

Our family recently embarked on a combo tour that included canyoning and rafting, and it was an absolute blast! The canyoning portion was the perfect blend of challenge and beauty. It wasn't too scary, making it ideal for families. The views were breathtaking, and it was a great way to bond with nature and each other.The rafting was the highlight for us, with class 2 and 3 rapids that were super safe yet filled with fun and excitement. The whitewater experience was thrilling, and our guides were the cherry on top. They were kind, gentle, and added a fun vibe to the entire adventure.We highly recommend this tour for families, kids, and teenagers. It's a fantastic way to create memorable experiences and enjoy the great outdoors.
