Overview

The excellent restoration of this ancient city makes it an absolute “must-see” destination for any visitor to the Yucatan peninsula interested in history and culture. After visiting Chichen Itza we cool off in an impressive cenote (flooded cave) where nature and mysticism will bring you to a whole new dimension. Valladolid is a city where past and present come together to delight us with astounding sights of beautifully colored colonial architecture and tastes of an incredibly rich gastronomy. A visit to the main square of the town will absorb you in the peace and tranquility of its people while you learn about the local customs.

If you do not find your hotel/apartment in the list, please enter your own pick up location. The exact pick up time will be confirmed to you once you have provided us with the pick up location. Alonso was an incredible guide throughout our day. His knowledge of the area and history of Mexico really added to the enjoyment of the day. Specifically, in a very unbiased manor, he shared some of the struggles of the indigenous peoples who once inhabited the peninsula which really resonated with me. I look forward to booking more tours with Alonso on future visits.

What an amazing trip! We were picked up right from the hotel and were given instructions beforehand via email and WhatsApp to confirm the location as well as a packing list and the name of our guide/driver! The group was small and we were able to get to know everyone on the drive to Chichen Itza (about 2 hours). During that drive Luigi, our guide gave us information about the surrounding environment as well as the culture and history of the sites we were visiting. Once we got to Chichen Itza the check-in process was a breeze and we quickly entered before the crowds and had the site to ourselves for a while. After we had time for photos we went to Valladolid for lunch (AMAZING) with lots of delicious food and drink. We also had some free time around Valladolid where we could explore the city center (we got some delicious hot sauce at the Farmer's Market). Then we went to the cenote where we had the place to ourselves with one other local family. We had a good hour or two in the cenote - plenty of time to jump and swim to our hearts' content. The only sad thing was leaving our newfound friends! THANK YOU LUIGI!
