What To Expect

1. Pompeii Archaeological Park Take the chance to visit in only 2 hours the ruins of the Roman city of Pompeii, the vast archaeological area under the UNESCO patronage.

2. Foro de Pompeya The Forum was the centre of Pompeii when it was first founded and even after the city's enlargement, when it could hardly be called 'central', it remained the focus of political, economic and religious life.

3. Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) The Stabian Baths take their name from the fact that they lie at the intersection of the Via Stabiana and the Via dell'Abbondanza. They are the oldest baths in Pompeii and four different building phases can be identified.

4. Tempio di Giove Capitolino The Temple of Jupiter, dedicated to the Capitoline triad of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, dominates the north side of the Forum.

5. Macellum The Macellum, or food market, stands in the north-east corner of the Forum. The complex, built in the imperial age as a covered market, had a large number of shops on its periphery on the Via degli Augustali and on the Forum as well as on the inside under a colonnade around its large internal court.

The itinerary may vary from day to day depending on the opening of certain offices, depending on attendance. One building per category is guaranteed to be visited-1 Temple, 1 Market, 1 Shop, 1 Villa, 1 Thermal Plant, 1 Theater, and the Forum. The choice of buildings visited is determined from time to time by the guide based on attendance, waiting times in case of long lines, or opening hours of the buildings. - The tour includes a visit to a Cameo factory, the Cameo is a typical Roman-era jewel found during excavations at Herculaneum and Pompeii in 1748. In the factory you will be able to see a craftsman at work, the cameo is a piece of jewelry made from congeals and precious stones and is hand engraved by the craftsman. A visit to the factory will allow you to use the toilets free of charge before entering the excavations, so the stop at the Cameo Factory in addition to being informative is essential in terms of managing your visit to the Pompeii excavations.
The tour is confirmed in the chosen language if the group reaches 6 participants; if the group does not reach 6 participants, the guide will be replaced by an audioguide in the chosen language or your choice in an English-language guide.

The Pompeii tour was excellent. We learned a lot of fantastic facts of how the people lived and thrived. I’d recommend the tour to friends and family.

The best way to see Pompeii

Our experience of visiting Pompeii with worldtours was simple, reasonably priced and fun. The coach was easy to find, quick and air conditioned. Titi, the coach guide, was friendly and funny, and spoke English, Spanish and Italian. Genaro was a great driver! We didn't feel rushed at any point, but we also didn't feel like we were constantly waiting for people either. The tour guide on the day at Pompeii, Andrea, was a really great person, very knowledgeable and personable. His English was impeccable, he asked questions and made the tour interactive. He made it feel like we were walking through the stories and lives of Pompeii citizens. This tour was well worth the money, I imagine we could have saved some money booking the individual parts ourselves, but having worldtours take care of it all meant we didn't have to worry about it all lining up. My one complaint is that the itinerary said we would receive a bottle of water each, which would have been nice on such a hot day, but it was never offered. That being said, it only cost €2 to buy one at Pompeii, so not a big deal.

The best option if you're coming from a cruise ship.

If your ship calls at Naples, you really should do this tour. They pick you up right on the quay side, its about a 35-40 min drive to Pompeii and you go straight after a comfort break. Our guide was local, but spoke good English, she was funny and informative. Pompeii it's self was fascinating and our two children 15&20 enjoyed it too. It was very busy, but i'm sure it always is, and it was very hot in August. The tour finishes with a little time to get a drink or ice cream and peruse the local market. They drop you back where they picked you up at about 1pm, so enough time to wander into the city centre for lunch, if you like.

Pompeii is a very interesting and exciting tour. Our tour guide did a wonderful job explaining things on the way. We also had an amazing archeological tour guide Enrique was phenomenal!
