We were a party of four in Venice for the first time, only for two nights. This tour included most of what we wanted to see all in one day. We started with your guide Roberta/Robbie who was a stellar historian and tour guide. Beginning in the Doge's Palace, she brought the place to life through tales of long ago. We crossed the Bridge of Sighs, entered the jail cells, stood in the Councils chambers, climbed the staircases. Marvelous. Then into St. Mark's Basilica, where she timed it so the sunlight shining though the windows lit up the golden mosaic tiles of the ceiling: incredible. We finished the morning with a gondola ride not only on the grand lagoon but in some of the quiet, smaller canals...Amazing! After a short break, we met our afternoon guide, Nichole who walked us to the boat for a ride to Murano island for a glass blowing demo and time to check out the glass wares and shop if we desired. Then back to the boat to Burano Island for a lace making demonstration and time to explore the island. We shipped, walked and enjoyed gelato while strolling and taking photos of the colorful buildings! We then took the boat back to our starting place. The perfect way to spend our last day in Venice! Highly recommend!
